Raiding can be fun!

Neige, my druid, spent a long time Wednesday running through dungeons with Tru. We met some complete idiots (as one expects when pugging) and some very cool people. (a blessing which usually takes one by surprise) Our shadow priest was happy that Tru is an amazing tank(I agree!) and that she could do AoE dps without worry for her life. She later took us to several more dungeons including Hall of Lightening and Oculus. It was a fun time running through things even my 80 druid hadn't seen and the hours slipped past. It was almost like being on Everquest again; I couldn't imagine that we'd really sat still and played WoW all day...but we had. Being with good and entertaining people makes all the difference in the virtual world.

More later, its 6:30 in the morning.

Calling all healers!

I slept through the start of the Naxxramas raid. Somehow I managed not to hear both frantic texts from guildmates. I swear the phone was right beside my head! (Perhaps I should have set an alarm but who knows whether I'd have heard that either.) I got online to them doing a different dungeon and lots of silence. Bad druid..Baaaaad!

I was then asked to help heal Eye of Eternity with a friendly priest that my hunter met while hopping to the crater. (I have screenshots of the epic bunny hop!) They summoned me and after whispering frantically to the priest. "Help I'm a bird! There has been a terrible summoning accident!" We got down to the serious business of being a tree.

It was their first time and we died a lot but I had fun. Their guild is small but they seem like a good group of people. At the end I waved goodbye to her and stepped through the mage portal.

...and found myself in the Exodar. She sent me a tell and said "I should have warned you not to take the portal. That's our mage."

Wow, Worst Dressed

I just got these pants and had to post. What were they thinking during Burning Crusades?

Perhaps there was a design contest at blizzard and instead of deciding on armor themes they just kept everything.

Perhaps they decided to make it hideous so we'd all grind for matching dungeon gear.

Or perhaps they are all geeks with no fashion sense.

...My poor hunter

Explore Azshara

I got home from getting some much needed groceries, and after attending to the gnawing hunger pains, I sat down at my computer. The plan was simple: level the hunter like a mad woman.

Why do things never go according to plan?

I had gone back to the Exodar to train and after looking in my quest log I decided to make a little detour before getting back to the leveling grind. It shouldn't have taken long; the quest was already complete!

So I fly into Azshara, pick up a few herbs on the way to the quest giver and then look at my map for the quickest way back to the flight path.
That was my first mistake, I should have hearthed right then but alas there was only one or two bits of unexplored map... when was I likely to be out this way again? It will only take a few minutes.
More than an hour later I realized why people didn't come to Azshara. Its pretty, very nice with the autumn coloured trees but its a pain in the ass to travel through. Mistake two came in thinking that the place I needed to explore was along the shore line. There is really only one good way up or down and so most of my time was spent running and swimming along the steep ridges trying to get the map to fill in.

Poor Ink was as frustrated as myself and several wandering murlocs soothed his boredom by becoming raptor snacks.

While running through one of the narrow gorges I happened to look up and notice this bridge running from the larger part of the land mass to the darkened unexplored part of my map...*hand went to forehead and I made my long way back to the one place that allowed you to ascend from the coast*

Now after sharing this lovely adventure and resupplying my water, I shall indeed get back to the quest for Northrend.

Why a blog?

So I have a livejournal page that rarely sees an update and a myspace page made only to appease friends with myspace pages and yet I feel compelled to make a blog. However, the intent of this blog is to talk (one might even say 'geek' and possibly even 'ramble') about gaming. I figure that my actual life is either private (and those are most likely the pieces that would be blog worthy bits of info) or not of interest to anyone save the people involved. (and therefore those most interested probably already know about it anyway)

I have played many a table top roleplaying game, written many a forum based game and played countless hours in more MMORPG's than I can remember.

This blog, therefore, is dedicated to my characters and their triumphs and trials.
